Below you will find useful information on how to apply for filming or photography permits.  Applications can be made through sarah.davidson@visitnorthumberland.com with the following information 

• As much detail and links to exact locations (If you are unsure, please contact us for support)
• If possible, please include a plan clearly indicating the land you are interested in. 
• A risk assessment specific for the filming 
• Proof of public liability insurance (PLI), minimum over £5m 

If you require the use of a drone, we also require the following information

• Pilots proof of PLI (if not covered by the above)
• Pilots Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) certificate 
• Drone take off, flight path and landing points 

Once your locations are identified, we will contact the relevant departments within Northumberland County Council, which will be in touch within 3 working days, but this depends on each request's complexities. 

Please note, Northumberland County Council do not issue county wide filming permissions, all requests are taken on a case by case basis. 

If your request is for privately owned land, you will be notified you need to contact them directly. The land ownership mapping system for Northumberland can be found here
