PR is a powerful communication tool and an important focus of our marketing activity. It helps to build credibility for both Northumberland and that of our individual partners.
At Visit Northumberland our PR strategy combines both proactive and reactive PR. We send out regular press releases and invite journalists and influencers to visit the county so they can tell their story on their visit. We also respond to all requests from journalists/influencers to ensure they have all the information and imagery they require to write an inspiring feature.
During 2021 we arranged 25 press trips to Northumberland and generated 64 pieces of coverage, including coverage in The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Times, National Geographic and Coast Magazine.
