New TV series premieres featuring Northumberland as a film location

In a week where we heard the sad news that Brenda Blethyn is stepping back from her iconic role as DCI Vera Stanhope there is another TV show shining a light on our beautiful county of Northumberland.

The Red King launched last night on Alibi and follows the story of disgruntled police officer Grace Narayan, played by Anjli Mohindra, who is trying to solve the mystery of missing teenager Cai on the tiny fictional island of St.Jory.

The cast and crew of this rather sinister production were blown away by the beauty of Northumberland and in particular the villages of Craster and Embleton where the majority of filming took place.

Hear what the cast and crew have to say
