Subsidised management training for SME leaders

The government backed programme, Help to Grow: Management, is supporting SMEs in the region to level up and boost their performance.

Delivered over the course of 12-weeks, the programme includes both online and face-to-face sessions, in order to be manageable alongside full-time work commitments. The content is designed to provide key skills to senior leaders in SMEs and help drive knowledge, innovation and agility through the development of an individually tailored business growth plan.

Delivered nationwide by a range of experts at leading business schools, Help to Grow: Management sees a host of commercially experienced entrepreneurs, business leaders and academics come together to provide world-class training to leaders of SMEs. In the North East and Cumbria, the programme can be accessed via Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University.

Helping businesses to accelerate their growth and unlock their potential, the curriculum is built on the foundations of strategy and innovation, digital adoption, financial management, marketing, employee engagement and responsible business practice.

This year’s programme is offering spaces to two participants from SMEs with 10 employees or more; organisations with between five and nine employees can put forward one participant. At 90% government subsidised, the opportunity costs just £750 for each participant.
